Medical Transcription - Train at Home, Work at Home!
Medical Transcription training is available through The Right Turn Career Learning Center in Pierre, South Dakota. This rewarding career is in high demand in the medical community. With this government approved training program you will be able to:
1) Do your training from your own home, using your own home computer. 2) Open enrollment. 3) Approximately an 18-month training program. 4) Have an independent, self-paced study course. 5) Work out of your home, for a local doctor, or hospital. 6) Have an opportunity to work independently and at your choice of hours. 7) Have exceptional compensation with increases through self-motivated production.
This course is designed to accommodate individuals who may be working and/or raising children and are interested in taking medical transcription on-line. Wendy Backlund, the MT coordinator for The Right Turn, states, "We accept students from all over. We even have some out-of-state students. All of the training is done from home via e-mail and the Internet. This gives people the opportunity to work on their studies as it fits into their schedule.
Medical transcriptionists (MTs) have their work place in many different fields; primarily in hospitals, doctor's offices, clinics, free clinics, health care agencies, medical insurance companies, and transcription pools. Many MTs work out of their homes as self-employed independent contractors or subcontractors, and some are hired with a company as a home-based transcriptionist.
Medical transcriptionists interpret oral dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals and record the content in a written form (either print or electronic), while editing simultaneoulsy to produce a grammatically correct document. The resulting documentation is the record of patient care that is necessary to facilitate delivery of healthcare services.
